The Kindergarten students work together on a mapping unit. They gather information about their neighborhood and create first a flat, then a three-dimensional map. The pictures are from 2003.
The images below show first: a flat map of Portland. Using a bird’s eye perspective, the students placed their address and home on the map, then they included other important landmarks. Then, the students constructed three dimensional maps of Portland based on information they collected about their neighborhood.
